The Tokyo Olympics started on a Grand Opening. It’s opening finally went through a four-hour extravaganza. It was filled with both celebratory and subdued in a stadium which was filled with empty seats.
The event took place in Tokyo and gave a kick-off to the Friday Evening. The opening ceremony of the Olympics was like no other. This event was a one-of-a-kind event. The flow of the event was filled with all celebration and subdued events. The stadium was not filled with any people.
Flow of Events in the Grand Olympics of Tokyo
Due Covid-19 Olympics was all under problems. But in the shadow of Covid-19 in the Japan Capital under many emergences and many people were opposing the event in the country. The event’s first moment of the event began at 8 p.m. local time in Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium. The event included a moment of silence for the people who died before the joyous event began.
Four Hour Extravaganza started with a Japanese Performance. The performance was aimed at an audience of billions around the world. The performance was later followed by a parade of waving athletes. The masked faces of athletes were proudly performing in the stadium.
Outside the stadium, there was a crowd of thousands of people who protested. They had placards that read “Lives over Olympics” and also chanted “Stop the Olympics” as they marched around the stadium.
The event followed with a dozen dancers building an Olympic village and raising the Olympic rings. The rings were made of wood of trees that grew from the seeds that were brought to the Japanese by athletes when it last hosted the summer games in 1964.
The viewers were thrilled to see the performance. Featured performances were neatly choreographed and a well-rehearsed display of national pride. It had traditional pomp and pageantry which was accompanied by the lighting of the Olympic cauldron, symbolizing the start of the games. This part made an unusual television performance. There was also a release of doves that signifying peace followed by fireworks that illuminate the sky of Tokyo.
Streaming of Olympics Grand Opening
Originally the coverage started in Tokyo at 8 p.m. local time. The time difference of Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of the Eastern United States. And it is ahead of 16 hours of West. Americans had to get a bed early to watch the live stream.
NBC’s live coverage started in the US at 6.55 a.m. E.T. and the rebroadcast of the ceremony at prime time at 7:30 p.m. ET and once again in the overnight show. The whole world included Japanese people watched it on TV and other streaming services.
